Nursery New Play Area

Outdoor Mud Kitchen

Playing allows children to develop a sense of well-being, develops their emotional responses and improves their interpersonal skills. It involves exploration and creativity, helping children think in a flexible manner, developing the creative process, language skills, and learning and problem                                                                     solving skills.

The Nursery children love the rock pit- it is good for coordination and balance across those rocks and already staff have seen lots of language around size... hunting out 'little rocks'   to feed the dinosaurs and 'wow.. big rock'. This will also helping developing children's language around rock, stone and pebble.

Nursery Strawberry Picking June 2017

In Nursery we have been sharing the story of 'The little Mouse, The Red Ripe Strawberry and The Big Hungry Bear' on the CD player. Our Home Learning Letter told us where we could listen to the story using the internet.

We also shared the story of 'Ten seeds', planted seeds and saw how they changed and grew and bought and weighed  fruit and vegetables from our role play shop.

So when we went strawberry picking we knew that strawberries are a fruit and that they grow on a plant. We had a great time picking the red, ripe, strawberries..... but wondered if we could hear the big hungry bear coming....

Nursery visit to Manor Farm

The children in Nursery visited Manor Farm. We met the animals. Some of us  helped milk the cow, feed the goats and handle the guinea pigs and rabbits. We saw the pig with their baby piglets and the sheep with their baby lambs. We walked around the farm looking for different animal homes and then had fun in the new play park . We could not find the television in the Old Farm House or any toys in the  Old School Room. We had such a fun and busy day some of us fell asleep on the way home!
