RECEPTION TO YEAR 1

This week we are starting to think about our transition to Year 1. We will be talking about how we feel about moving class and what have been our favourite times in Year R.

Please remember that Wednesday 6th July is Transition day where we get to spend the day in our new classrooms with our new teacher.

Thank you

JAMES & GIANT PEACH PARADE

Last term Year 2 were looking at the story by Roald Dahl "James and The Giant Peach". This linked into our topic Great Journeys. The children learnt about Amy Johnson and Grace Darling's great journeys. We looked at aspirations and achievements and the children thought about their own hopes and dreams for the future.

We celebrated the end of term with our own great journey " A parade through the school".

Here's a few pictures to show you all how much fun we had.

QUEENS BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS IN THE NURSERY

CRIME SCENE AT MAYTREE - WHO DID IT?

Who did it?

When we arrived at school today we found a crime scene!
Behind the police tape we could see 3 bears, 3 bowls of porridge and 3 chairs. The small bear's chair has been broken! We are going to investigate to find out who did it.

This week we are going to be reading Goldilocks and the Three bears story, acting out the story using props, thinking about the right and wrong choices the characters made in the story and making character masks. It is going to be a busy week.
