PETS AT HOME SPRING 2 TERM

Year 1 project Caring for our World included the topic of Pets.

The children learnt about different types of pets, how to care for them, feeding, cleaning and exercising.

Mrs Lyons Clark brought in her dog Daisy, Mrs Williams brought in her dog in Cai and Mrs Jones brought in her rabbit, Peter.

YEAR 1 VISIT TO HILLIER GARDENS MARCH 2016

Year 1 visit Hillier's Gardens

We visited Hilliers as part of our "Caring for Our World" topic. We had a mini beast hunt, took part in some pond dipping, explored the herb garden and made curtains with string, pine cones and other natural objects.

Dinosaur workshop

This week Year R have taken part in a Dinosaur workshop. We learnt lots of facts about Dinosaurs and got to dig for fossils.

Did you know Dinosaurs lived millions of years ago and are now extinct?

There were Dinosaurs bigger than our school and some could fly and swim in water.

We loved discovering the fossils and learning about Herbivores and Carnivores.

Year 2 Waterstones Trip

Year 2 visited Waterstones Bookstore in Southampton at the end of last term to spend their £1 World Book Day vouchers. Mrs Akhamrich & Mrs Goatley walked the children into West Quay on a lovely sunny day. The lead book seller Mrs Gale at Waterstones, made it a true, life like and fun experience for the children, who all really enjoyed themselves.

EASTER EGG TOMBOLA FOR WESSEX ROTARY CLUB

Maytree supported the Wessex Rotary Club in their Easter Egg Tombola last term with fantastic results. Over 100 tickets were sold with the final amount of £111 being donated to the toy library.

Our very own Satvir Pardesi won this fabulous egg...wondered how long it took to eat?

Well done to everyone who helped raise money for Wessex Rotary.
