MAYORS PARLOUR VISIT 27.01.2017

The school council children, past and present, enjoyed a visit to Southampton City Council on the morning of Friday 27 January 2017.

The children met the Lady Mayor, Cllr Catherine McEwing and viewed the Mayors chambers.

Cllr Satvir Kaur & Cllr Darren Paffey showed the children the Council Chamber where decisions for Southampton are made. The children loved sitting in the seats where council decisions are made and debated for Southampton.

It was all very exciting.
Here are a few photographs of our morning.

NURSERY CHILDREN - Walking in the woodland

NURSERY CHILDREN - Walking in the woodland

The Nursery children are sharing and acting out the repetitive phrases from the book 'Walking through the Jungle... what do you see?'
This week we will all go into the school woodland. We will and look through the binoculars we made last week to see what animals we can see hiding there.

" Oh look there is a lion, looking for his tea."

'Christmas in space shines even brighter'

Children from year 1 and year 2 art club had great fun creating the decorations for a fabulous space
themed Christmas Tree.

Inspired by the recent adventures of British astronaut Tim Peake,  the children created and entered their space themed tree in the Mayors Christmas Tree Festival.

Throughout December our tree has been on display in the foyer of the the Civic Centre for all to enjoy.

We are pleased to announce it has been awarded a Highly Commended certificate by the Mayor.

Congratulations to art club and Merry Christmas everyone.

Bridge Building Workshop 25-11-16

The children in Year R invited Nursery children to come to a Bridge Building Workshop. Year R had written and drawn plans of how to make bridges as part of of their work on the Story of 'The Three Billy Goats Gruff'. The Nursery children had visited Mount Pleasant Train Crossing and also read and acted out the same story. Can you see "Who is crossing over my bridge?"
